Who We Are
SGE is a CBO that engage Girls and Women (individually and Groups) in Income generating activities. SGE does that through offering technical and financial support in the design, production and marketing of low cost reusable and washable feminine products that make use of available absorptive local materials. The idea is provide healthy sanitary conditions to women while giving them an opportunity to earn a livelihood for themselves and their families.Girls and women are engaged at two levels: production and marketing of feminine and other products such as recyclable baskets. This creates employment that offers enumerative packages to women in the local economy.
SGE Aims
- 1. Create employment for girls and women and make them financial independent.
- 2. Develop entrepreneurial skills for women in micro-enterprises, adopting better production and market opportunities.
- 3. Build the capacity of girls and women in establishing sustainable enterprises
- 4. Promote business oriented women groups

Production Process
Girls and women are provided with tailoring resources such as sewing machines to start up their business. They are housed in their own homes or at a central venue.
Marketing process
Girls and women are involved as SmartGirls Independent Representatives to sell products. This group is taught how to market, manage finances and inventory management skills. This allows them to think innovatively on how to market the products to ensure maximum sales and steady growth of their business.
